Go Hotels Ermita | a Comfortable and Affordable Accommodation in Manila

Living in the province of Bulacan provides me a fresh escape from the bustles of the big city. As much as I appreciate residing off the grid from Manila, there are times that I feel the need to find a place to stay in the Metro. Early morning and red eye flights, attending a party or meeting a group of friends – On each occasion I found myself booking an affordable room at a Go Hotels branch.

During a three day span a few months ago where I needed to attend a few work related meetings and meet another friend from Baguio City, I booked a room at the new Go Hotels branch in Malate. I found this property mirroring the other Go Hotels locations, with its impressive service and laid-back and no frills amenities – providing you just what you need at every penny’s worth of your room rate.

Because I was happy with my experience I would like to recommend this hotel to my readers and below are some of the reasons why I totally dig staying at this hotel – and yes, other than it is one of the cheapest ones you will find in the city that can also pass as a miniature high class hotel.

The Minimalist Rooms

Being a travel writer, I am fortunate to have stayed at numerous 5-star hotels, hostels and budget hotels. While I also dig expansive rooms with varying levels of interior concepts, I am forever awed by the simple and minimalist style of Go Hotels’ room interiors. The white walls blends perfectly with its signature yellow colored look. While the comfy soft bed outfitted with soft Windsor mattresses and non-allergenic pillows with chiropractic cushions make sleeping like a baby as easy as saying A,B,C. Two side tables, a work station below the clothing rack and a 32 inch LED TV completes the simple yet efficient interior. For traveling writers like me, I find the rooms of Go Hotels perfectly catering to my needs.

Also, kudos to the idea of separating the shower and toilet - as it gives both occupants of the room the opportunity of using either at the same time, thus saving time in grooming preparation. WiFi signal is also fast inside the room.

Great Location

Go Hotels Ermita situates right in the heart of Malate at Mabini Streets where it is a few walking strides away from Roxas Boulevard, Robinsons Manila and a number of fancy restaurants and interesting hole-in-the-walls establishments located in Padre Faura and Adriatico Street. Pedro Gil LRT station is also just a mere 15 minutes away by foot. This branch is a good place to set up base when one also plan on exploring Manila City, thus making it a highly recommended accommodation for both foreign and local travellers.

Value for Money

When I booked a room at Go Hotels Ermita at Traveloka, the rates were at around 2,300 pesos and considering my date of stay was only a few days away, I consider it a great deal compared to other hotels in Manila that cost more but provides inadequate services. I can even point out a number of dodgy hotels within Malate area with dilapidated features charging more than 2,000 pesos per room. When it comes to budgeted – yet decent accommodations, Go Hotels still comes highly recommended if you ask me.

Friendly Hotel Staff

For a budget hotel such as Go Hotels, it is very commendable to see how they have come up with a well-trained and very pleasant hotel crew. It was great observing how professional each one from the door man to the receptionists and the cleaning staff.

Country Style Café (Food and Beverage Service)

I love hotel breakfast and Go Hotels provides an option to have breakfast at Country Style Café. Serving assorted sandwich and pasta dishes, I can say my favourite is the country club sandwich. One can also choose from the many doughnuts variants which Country Style also serves. I love the choice of tapping Country Style Café as the main provider of the hotel’s food and beverage services.

The Consistency of the Go Hotels Brand

More than the reasons I listed above, it is the consistency of the Go Hotels Brand of service that appeals me to opting to always stay at their branches in places I visit. So far other than in Ermita, I have stayed at their properties in Dumaguete, Butuan, Puerto Princesa and Tacloban. In every Go Hotels I slept at, I experienced the same top notch service and professionalism as well as observing the similar design concepts that bodes well to its budget traveller-friendly hotel rates.
