Soon to hold regular cruising schedule in Manila, Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas – which is also the biggest luxury ship to sail the waters of Asia, has already given a hint of what’s to come for Filipino travelers willing to get a taste of high sea living. After making numerous port of calls in Hong Kong, Ovation of the Seas made its double maiden call in Subic and Manila on June 8 and 9, 2018. Although Ovation of the Seas’ upcoming cruises will cover nearby countries like Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and even Australia, it will be just a matter of months before they call Manila a regular home port.

To get you further excited at someday sailing aboard Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas, here are some of the fantastic things you can do and experience on-board this state-of-the-art and marvelous ship.

Feast All-Day


When they say one can eat at least six times aboard Ovation of the Seas, they aren’t kidding. There are ten complimentary restaurant aboard the ship – dining in each one is free because it is already part of your cruise package. These are: Windjammer (buffet-style), American Icon Grill, The Grande Restaurant, Chic, Cafe Promenade, Silk, Sorrento’s New York Pizzeria, Coastal Kitchen, The Cafe at Two70 and the cool hotdog stand Seaplex Dog House.


In addition, they also have five specialty restaurants that are non-inclusive; Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver, Chops Grille: The New American Steakhouse, Wonderland, Izumi and the five course steakhouse Chef’s Table.


So, expect to gain a few pounds after you disembark the ship at the end of your trip.

The world-class basketball court inside Ovation of the Seas provides you an ideal place to sweat it out with your friends – or even play against the other passengers, with a friendly game of pick-up basketball. On scheduled hours during the day, the basketball court is magically transformed into an ice skating rink.

Another complimentary activity included in your cruise ticket, this 40 feet rock climbing wall not only summons your climbing will, it also takes you to the top with spectacular view of the sea.

Who says you need to gain extra weight from your Ovation of the Seas cruise, when can mix your six meal a day with a daily fitness exercise and even, a yoga session. Come nighttime, guests are entertained to thrilling theatrics courtesy of live shows held at the ship’s Royal Theater and Two70 Performance Hall. Sit tight and enjoy jaw-dropping aerial acrobatics, exhilarating dance choreography from performers adorned with lavish costumes, and accompanied with spellbinding visual effects. Usually on the last night of the cruise, a famed musical performer is slated to perform.

During the night, the ship transforms into a livelier notch higher as various bars and lounges provides the perfect place to unwind and socialize. Take a pick from these stylish and hip bars such as Vintages, the Pool Bar, the Two70 Bar, Diamond Club and Schooner Bar. Karaoke halls and a spacious music lounge are also open during the night.

Duty Free shops selling signature brands are also open all day, while the Casino Royale opens its doors for passengers of legal age. If you want to have a very unique drinking experience? Then try out the Bionic Bar – which is highlighted by robotic bartending and mixology technology.
