2 Days of Sand(y) at Malapascua Island

April 13, 2011

I went to Malapascua with my friend Sandy last weekend. It was a spontaneous trip that came about only after a few nonsense conversations about what to do on a weekend. I was able to find cheap Cebu Pacific tickets last week and quickly penciled in the last weekend for this whirlwind excursion north of Cebu.

Capones Island Lighthouse | Zambales

April 13, 2011

I've been to Capones island four times already and my first published travel article was a narrative about my earlier trip here. On this trip, we hiked to the lighthouse taking the longer route since our temperamental boatman does not like the idea of docking near the lighthouse. It didn't matter though, as it was still a fairly easy hike of around 45 minutes coming from the back of Capones facing the Pundaquit shoreline.

Mystical, Maniacal Reefer Madness at Apo Reef

April 04, 2011

The best thing about our Apo Reef trip was the opportunity to just chill in one place without worrying about moving to the next destination. It's about getting lost in the moment relaxing under the sun. It reminded me of what Tim Robbins' character in Shawshank Redemption would do once he experienced  boundless freedom.  Feeling the fine white sands as I lay down feeling the rays of the sun kiss my skin while humming Weezer's "Island in the Sun", sounds like what island living is all about.
